![]() So if you want to avoid the clusterfuck that is creating and documenting a new live ID for every single client that buys a new copy of 2013, either upsell the client to volume licensing or try to buy OEM cards (I think Ingram Micro sells them). If you use that key, you can activate your copy of office without signing in with your live ID just like you can with an OEM license. If you register your retail key with a live account and then sign in at, click "Install from a disc," then "I want to burn a disc," and then finally "View your product key," the key displayed is completely different from what's on the retail PKC. No so much with the retail keys: there is no way that anyone has found to get around the addition of a live ID. ![]() OEM PCK licenses can activate office 2013 without requiring a microsoft account. ![]() When we order licenses for clients anywhere else, we get this. If we purchase an office 2013 license from an OEM with a new machine, we receive a PKC like this. Ever since Office 2013 was released I've noticed a strange inconsistency with activation.
